Upon entering high school, Sakamichi Onoda sets his sights on joining the anime club to finally connect with like-minded friends after a solitary middle school experience devoid of otaku camaraderie. To his dismay, he discovers the club's disbandment, sparking his mission to revive it by recruiting four passionate members. Ever since childhood, Onoda has pedaled his trusty mamachari, a sturdy bicycle ideal for leisurely rides and errands, to Akihabara religiously each week in pursuit of otaku treasures. During one of these rides, Shunsuke Imaizumi, a freshman and competitive cyclist, witnesses Onoda's uphill cycling prowess. Meanwhile, Shokichi Naruko, another freshman and enthusiast for Gundam models, encounters Onoda in Akihabara, intrigued by his cycling finesse. As fate would have it, all three attend the same school. Subsequently, Naruko and Imaizumi attempt to sway Onoda towards joining the bicycle racing club, presenting him with a pivotal choice that could redefine his high school journey.
