In an alternate Edo period invaded by extraterrestrial beings called 'Amanto,' the samurai's resistance proves futile, leading to the Shogun's surrender. Amidst a nationwide sword ban and the fading samurai ethos, Gintoki Sakata, an unconventional warrior wielding a wooden sword, refuses to let his samurai heritage fade. Transitioning to odd jobbery to survive, Gintoki, accompanied by his apprentice Shinpachi Shimura, the fierce alien Kagura, and the oversized dog Sadaharu, operates the peculiar Yorozuya business. Their escapades spiral into a mix of absurdity and humor in a transformed world.
