Ruuko Kominato, a newcomer in town, grapples with loneliness until her brother gifts her a WIXOSS trading card deck to aid her in making friends. In this card game, each deck contains a unique LRIG card representing the player. However, Ruuko's card behaves strangely—it depicts a girl who moves and communicates. As she is challenged to a WIXOSS battle by a schoolmate, she discovers her role as a Selector, one with a sentient LRIG. Selectors have the chance to fulfill a wish through battles, but losing three times brings a dreadful curse instead. Now, Ruuko embarks on a journey to fight for her deepest desires.
