In an alternate Edo period in Japan, Kuromitsu and his loyal servant Ji stand as the remnants of the once prestigious Toku-tokugawa family. After suffering defeat in recent conflicts, Kuromitsu, now destitute, clings to his pride and noble heritage. Determined to restore his family's former eminence, he sets out to reclaim the lost glory of the Toku-tokugawa lineage.
