After his grandfather's passing, Nakaruma Haru shuts down their bakery and grapples with what lies ahead. Opting to revive the bakery solo, he heads to the graveyard to share the news with his late grandfather. Amidst his visit, he encounters a peculiar man who seems to be a mortician paying his respects at the graves. Subsequently, this enigmatic figure seeks refuge from the rain at Haru's shop, prompting Haru to spontaneously extend hospitality by inviting him in and providing shelter for the night.
