Two self-proclaimed nihilists, a young man and his friend, embark on a motorcycle journey to Chikura, Chiba Prefecture, aiming to swim but lose their way as evening falls. Their path crosses with a vendor from Yamanashi, leading them to a solitary old woman's home where they find refuge. Sharing whiskey as suggested by the old woman, they listen to the vendor's poignant tale after she drifts off into slumber.
