When a pair of eccentric strangers startle high schooler Yukari Hayasaka, she faints from the surprise. Upon awakening, she finds herself in the company of more oddly dressed individuals in the basement studio of Paradise Kiss—a fashion club led by four Yazawa School for the Arts students. Despite feeling initially kidnapped, Yukari realizes they only want her to model for their upcoming show. Initially rejecting their offer due to her packed schedule, Yukari reluctantly reconsiders when the group's leader, George Koizumi, uses her student passbook as leverage. Moved by the group's passion, Yukari decides to assist them. Balancing her new role as Paradise Kiss' model with her busy life, Yukari finds herself drawn into the allure of the fashion world, especially as she spends more time with George and the team.
