When Kagome Higurashi is yanked into the past by a demon through a well, her mundane life takes a dramatic turn. Discovering the existence of demons coexisting with humans, she unwittingly brings a perilous item from her time—the Shikon Jewel, a tiny but potent sphere. After shattering the jewel in a frantic encounter with a demon, Kagome scatters its numerous shards across ancient Japan. Tasked with retrieving them to prevent calamity, she partners with the half-demon Inuyasha in a race against malevolent forces eager to harness the jewel's formidable powers.
