Ren Mihashi, a stubborn pitcher, faces rejection from his middle school team due to his reluctance to step down from the mound. He transfers to Nishiura High School, where a fledgling baseball team sees his talent. Teaming up with the tough catcher Takaya Abe, Mihashi embarks on a quest to unlock his full potential and gain the self-assurance to stand alongside his newfound comrades in any game.
