Her arrival stirs curiosity due to her cute demeanor and the scandalous reason for her expulsion—violence against a teacher at her previous school. At Touzuka, she meets Yuusuke Kanda and Shin Meguro, two classmates with contrasting personalities. Yuusuke hides his disinterest behind a facade of cheerfulness, while Shin, despite his aloof exterior, harbors a caring side. Yuusuke suggests that Maria soften her harsh truths with a more pleasant delivery, a skill she struggles to adopt in speech but unexpectedly excels at through singing.
