In the quiet village of Sotoba, where not much goes on, the spirited Megumi Shimizu stands out with dreams of escaping to the city. When a mysterious European-style mansion appears, she ventures to meet its occupants, only to vanish overnight. Her discovery the next day, marked with peculiar bites, sets off a chain of unexplained deaths in the village. Dr. Toshio Ozaki, priest Seishin Muroi, youth Natsuno Yuuki, and siblings Kaori and Akira Tanaka unite to unravel the eerie occurrences. As the body count rises, they realize the looming threat might surpass their worst nightmares, with the dead outnumbering the living.
