Following the adventures of Aotsuki Ushio, who is shadowed by a massive, otherworldly tiger, this story unfolds around a Shinto temple in Japan. Centuries ago, Ushio's samurai ancestor locked the same tiger in combat, using the sacred 'Beast Spear' to pin it against a rock. When Ushio mistakenly releases the tiger, named Tora, from its confinement, he must strike a deal with this formidable creature to fend off incoming demons.
