Renowned for its legendary basketball team, Teikou Middle School once boasted the extraordinary 'Generation of Miracles' – a quintet of basketball prodigies whose unrivaled talents made them unbeatable by their final year. Yet, consumed by hubris, they disbanded, dispersing to different high schools after graduation. Upon his return from the United States, Taiga Kagami enrolls at Seirin High School, seeking formidable teammates. It is here that he encounters Tetsuya Kuroko, an unassuming player who surprises Kagami by revealing his true identity as the 'Phantom Sixth Man' of the Generation of Miracles, a master of stealthy passes and assists. United in their goal, Kagami and Kuroko aim to overcome their former teammates and elevate Seirin's basketball squad to national supremacy.
