In the Heian era, Abe no Masahiro, the grandson of the famed onmyoji Abe no Seimei, inherits his grandfather's mystical knowledge. Despite losing his sixth sense and sight of spirits, Masahiro harbors resentment for living in Seimei's shadow. However, his fate takes a turn when he encounters a fox-like creature named Mokkun, actually Toda, a loyal shikigami called Guren. With Guren's guidance, Masahiro discovers his latent powers after battling a demon. Now, aided by Guren and the other Shinsho, Masahiro strives to prove himself as Seimei's rightful heir and protect Japan from demonic threats spreading from China, other regions, and the Underworld. To fulfill his destiny and safeguard Princess Akiko of the Fujiwara clan, Masahiro must overcome rival onmyoji and master his abilities, all while aspiring to surpass his legendary grandfather.
