When fourteen-year-old Madoka Kaname experiences a peculiar dream involving a mysterious being and a distressed girl, she is bewildered to find a new student, Homura Akemi, who strikingly resembles the girl from her dream. Soon, Madoka's world is further tangled as she hears a distress signal echoing in her mind, leading her to an injured creature named Kyuubey, the same entity from her dream. Unnerved by Homura's presence near Kyuubey, Madoka rescues the creature with the aid of her loyal friend Sayaka Miki. Subsequently, Kyuubey proposes an alluring offer to the girls: the chance to become magical girls and fulfill any desire they possess. Yet, as they delve deeper into this magical realm, the true cost of their wishes looms ominously, unveiling a reality far more complex and perilous than anticipated.
