Following the resolution of Third Impact by Shinji Ikari, the world enjoys a peaceful period after the Battle at NERV HQ. Under the leadership of Misato Katsuragi, NERV undergoes reorganization, with Shinji leading the EVA team alongside his friends Asuka Langley Souryuu and Rei Ayanami. Technological advancements prompt upgrades to the Evangelions, including the deployment of three Series-0.0 units in low Earth orbit to safeguard the planet. However, as preparations are made to enhance Shinji's Unit-01 Type-F, a Unit-0.0 malfunctions and crashes near Tokyo-3. Subsequently, NERV faces an assault from an enigmatic Angel Carrier—a peculiarly modified Mass Production Evangelion. Now, Shinji, Asuka, and Rei must unite to thwart this unexpected threat and unmask their unknown adversary.
