When young girls vanish, one being close to Wilhelm disappears too. Fearing for his sister, Wilhelm seeks solace in prayers led by priests, hoping divine intervention will rescue her. Doubtful of the prayers' efficacy, Wilhelm ventures to negotiate with a demon to secure his sister's return, even at the cost of his own soul. Confronting the demon on the town's edge, Wilhelm accuses it of the abductions, to which the malevolent being responds with a sinister smile.
