When 15-year-old Kouichi Sakakibara moves to Yomiyama in 1998, he faces a stint in the hospital due to a previous injury, missing the initial school days at Yomiyama North. During his recovery, he encounters Mei Misaki, a mysterious girl with an eye patch, piquing his interest. Placed in Class 3-3 upon his return, Kouichi senses an unsettling tension among his classmates, particularly towards Mei, who is strangely ignored by all.
