When ordinary high school student Amagi Souya finds himself thrust into a fantastical realm teeming with Gods, magic, and mythical creatures, he must join forces with three fellow 'Outsiders' – a samurai from the Warring Periods, an NYPD member with a guardian angel, and a secretive Crusader – to locate the elusive 'Star Gate' for his return home.
