Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School, funded by the government to cultivate the nation's brightest minds, becomes a melting pot of Japan's young talents. Among them is the introverted Kiyotaka Ayanokouji, who joins Class 1-D and befriends the aloof Suzune Horikita. Initially enchanted by the school's lavish resources, the students soon realize its harsh reality—only the highest-achieving classes enjoy its privileges, leaving Class D in the shadows as the underdogs. Tasked with ascending the ranks, Ayanokouji, Horikita, and their classmates must unite and compete fiercely against other groups to reach the prestigious Class A, employing any means necessary to secure their ascent.
