Fushimi Inari harbors unrequited feelings for her classmate Tanbabashi. In a clumsy attempt to connect with him, she inadvertently embarrasses him in front of their peers. Rejected by Tanbabashi and realizing his affections for the charming Sumizome, Inari's heartache deepens. Amidst her turmoil, she encounters Uka-no-Mitama-no-kami, a pale fox deity, who offers to grant her a wish for aiding a fox-spirit. Without hesitation, Inari wishes to become Sumizome. However, the wish backfires, prompting the goddess to bestow Inari with the ability to shapeshift to correct her mistake. Now equipped with this power, Inari grapples with the temptation to win Tanbabashi's affection through deception. Yet, the repercussions of abusing her newfound gift loom, risking not only her fate but also the wrath of the goddess Amaterasu.
