As Shouko Komi enters Itan Private High School, renowned for its elite status, she quickly becomes the school's beloved figure, exuding elegance with her long black hair and graceful presence. However, despite her popularity, Shouko struggles to communicate effectively. On the other hand, Hitohito Tadano, an ordinary high school student adhering to a motto of avoiding trouble, finds himself ostracized by his classmates merely for sitting beside Shouko. A chance mishap leaves Hitohito unconscious, and upon waking up to Shouko's 'meow,' he pretends not to have heard it, inadvertently causing Shouko to flee. Realizing Shouko's communication challenges and her lack of any friends, Hitohito decides to assist her in a quest to befriend one hundred individuals, aiming to help her overcome her communication barriers.
