After a showdown with Gorilla Grodd at Arkham Asylum, Batman finds himself transported to Feudal Japan when the Quake Engine malfunctions, causing the entire asylum to vanish. In this unfamiliar land, he must navigate the dangers of samurai attacks orchestrated by the Joker, who now rules over Japan with other asylum criminals. With limited resources and the Quake Engine hidden in Arkham Castle, Batman must confront old enemies and adapt to this new world to make it back to Gotham unscathed.
