At the helm of the middle school science club, Ueno, a prodigious inventor, creates gadgets with remarkable abilities, from purifying liquids to concealing with dark matter. Her motivation, however, stems not from a desire to benefit humanity but from the enigma of love. Smitten with Tanaka, a casual club peer, Ueno's unrequited affection drives her to comically risque schemes. With the aid of her deadpan accomplice Yamashita, she orchestrates elaborate ploys using her inventions to provoke Tanaka's emotions, hoping he will reciprocate her feelings.
