Post-lecture, during a meeting with fellow Clock Tower nobles, he openly criticizes those solely focused on internal power struggles, provoking a retaliatory curse. The next day, while accompanied by his apprentice Gray, he witnesses a tragic incident involving a stray cat he had befriended. Acknowledging the cat's death as a potential threat to his own life, Lord El-Melloi II embarks on a quest to uncover the perpetrator alongside Gray, Flat, and Svin.
