Fleeing from the pursuing Erste Empire, Gran and the Grandcypher's crew are propositioned with a truce. They rendezvous at Albion Citadel, under the hospitality of Vira Lillie, Albion's Lord Commander and an acquaintance of Katalina from her military training days. Despite being pardoned by Imperial General Furias, tensions remain high. During a lavish gala thrown by Vira, the crew learns of a Primal Beast's existence on the island and receives a shocking resignation letter from Katalina. While Gran sets out to locate their departed comrade, Eugen and Rackam delve into suspicions of a darker imperial agenda lurking within the island's borders.
