In the world of Megalo Box, a high-tech form of boxing using Gear frames, a former champion known as 'Gearless' Joe once reigned victorious in the prestigious Megalonia tournament. However, after a crushing defeat in an exhibition match, Joe disappeared, only to resurface seven years later as 'Nomad,' living a subdued life and participating in underground fights to survive. Plagued by haunting visions and dependent on painkillers, Joe crosses paths with Chief, an opponent who throws the match for gambling profit. Unveiling Chief's ties to the immigrant community Casa, struggling to secure their living space, Joe initially hesitates but ultimately chooses to support their cause.
