In the secluded village of Hinamizawa, Rika Furude and her friends embrace Keiichi Maebara, the lone male addition to their tight-knit circle. Amidst their daily activities and games, Keiichi starts to discern peculiar conduct among his companions, hinting at the village's enigmatic past. Meanwhile, an observer, well-versed in the recurring narrative of sinister events, intervenes to mend the fractured realities.
