However, their date takes a bizarre turn as Ichigo is engulfed by a strange light, leading to a heroic transformation when she witnesses Aoyama endangered by a monstrous creature. Unharmed but faced with newfound powers, Ichigo learns of her destiny as part of the Mew Project—a team of magical girls fused with endangered species' DNA. With the aid of researchers Ryou Shirogane and Keiichiro Akasaka, she embarks on a mission to unite her fellow teammates and battle the Chimera Anima, creatures controlled by alien invaders set on world domination.
