Venturing to Gévaudan, Vanitas and Noé Archiviste embark on a mission to locate the fearsome 'Beast,' a wolf-like creature responsible for numerous killings. Believing the Beast to be a cursed vampire, Vanitas endeavors to cure it with his grimoire's magic. During their pursuit, the duo becomes separated and unexpectedly find themselves thrust back in time to face the Beast in its primeval setting. Following a fierce confrontation with the monstrous wolf and a vampire slayer, Vanitas joins forces with Jeanne to track down Noé. Despite their alliance, Jeanne harbors a conflicting objective—to eliminate the Beast, suspecting a personal connection. Meanwhile, a wounded Noé encounters the enigmatic Chloé d'Apchier and her attendant, both vampires concealed from public awareness. Chloé, a protector of future generations, once sought a path to humanity. Although Noé appreciates Chloé's care, he remains unaware of her potential allegiance to forces more perilous than the Beast itself.
