Uchi no Shishou wa Shippo ga Nai
In the early Taishou era, the cunning tanuki's era of mischief fades as humans grow wise to their shape-shifting abilities. Undeterred by this changing world, young Mameda, a spirited tanuki determined to uphold her family's legacy, journeys to Osaka with hopes of outwitting unsuspecting individuals. Despite the skepticism of her village peers, Mameda's attempts at trickery fall flat, leading to a perilous encounter with a vengeful mob. Seeking sanctuary in a theater, she serendipitously encounters Bunko Daikokutei, a rakugo virtuoso whose storytelling prowess captivates her. Inspired by the artistry of rakugo, Mameda implores Bunko to mentor her, a request he initially rebuffs before recognizing her unwavering dedication. Balancing her rakugo training with taiko lessons and theatrical duties, Mameda endeavors to excel in an art form that still holds the power to enchant and beguile audiences.
