For centuries, the Takamimi Shrine in Tokyo has housed Elda, a magical elf deity from another realm. As the shrine's caretaker, Koito Koganei inherits the duty from her ancestors when she comes of age. Balancing her school life with tending to Elda, a recluse elf immersed in video games and snacks, proves challenging. Determined to broaden Elda's horizons, Koito navigates between indulging in Elda's hobbies and integrating her into society. Through this journey, Koito unravels the shrine's history and the endearing yet eccentric nature of the beloved goddess.
