When Mikiya Kokutou entrusts Shiki Ryougi with a cat during his absence, Shiki reluctantly agrees to watch over it. Despite her initial resistance, she finds herself grappling with understanding her new feline companion. Meanwhile, the cat displays a fondness for Mikiya and yearns for his return. In a different part of the city, Ririsu Miyazuki revisits the site of her friend's suicide, contemplating the same fate until she encounters Fujino Asagami, a blind classmate haunted by a dark past. Despite their differences, Asagami's presence stirs memories of Miyazuki's lost friend and helps her confront her inner turmoil. Fast forward two months, Mikiya opts to spend New Year's with Shiki rather than his family, sparking discontent in his sister Azaka who spends the holiday with her schoolmates instead. As the snow blankets the city, Mikiya ponders his deepest wish: for Shiki to find true happiness in her life.
