Tomoya Okazaki, a disaffected delinquent with a bleak outlook on life, drifts through high school with his friend Youhei Sunohara. Their routine of skipping classes is disrupted when Tomoya encounters Nagisa Furukawa, a girl who uses quirky phrases to motivate herself. Despite his initial indifference, Tomoya gradually befriends Nagisa, discovering her dreams of revitalizing the school's drama club. With time on his hands, Tomoya joins forces with Nagisa and four other girls to support her cause. Through their shared efforts, Tomoya not only helps the girls tackle their personal challenges but also realizes the vibrancy and purpose that life holds beyond his initial cynicism.
