After losing her parents, Heidi is sent to live with her reclusive grandfather, Öhi, in the Alps. Though initially reluctant to care for her, Heidi's compassion gradually softens his heart. Amidst the company of the shepherd Peter and the disabled Klara, they embark on numerous escapades together.
