Kitarou, a young youkai boy born in a graveyard, is the sole surviving member of the Ghost tribe besides his mostly decayed father. Despite his lost left eye hidden under his hair, he champions harmony between humans and youkai, often defending humans from the tricks of his kind. This adaptation of Kitarou's tale draws inspiration from the classic Hakaba Kitarou manga, the precursor to the beloved Gegege no Kitarou series from the late 1960s.
