In the midst of a vengeful assault by aerial ninjas from the Land of Sky upon Konohagakure, Naruto Uzumaki is delayed from battle by a mysterious doctor, Shinnou, in need of his aid for an urgent rescue mission. While transporting an injured individual to the medical facility, Naruto crosses paths with Amaru, a troubled youth seeking Shinnou's assistance from a nearby village. Meanwhile, with the enemy regrouping, Tsunade seizes the moment to dispatch strategic teams led by Sai, Shikamaru Nara, Kakashi Hatake, as well as Naruto, Sakura Haruno, and Hinata Hyuuga to support Shinnou and Amaru. Unbeknownst to them, Orochimaru manipulates Sasuke Uchiha to capture the doctor skilled in a dark art.
