Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan - Tsuioku-hen
In the era preceding the Japanese Revolution, Hiko Seiijuro, a solitary and skilled swordsman, intervenes in a bandit attack on a slave caravan. Despite his efforts, he only manages to save one soul from the brutal assault. Instructing the child to seek refuge in a nearby village, Hiko is surprised to find the boy, days later, honoring the deceased with makeshift graves. Recognizing the child's potential, Hiko adopts him, bestowing upon him the name Kenshin, symbolizing the essence of the sword. Under the tutelage of Hiten Mitsuruugi Ryu, Kenshin learns the ways of the blade. Amidst a struggle between his idealistic principles and the harsh realities of life, Tsuiokuhen delves into the somber tale of Himura Kenshin, once feared as the notorious assassin of the Japanese Revolution: the Hitokiri Battousai.
