After a seven-year absence, Saku Ooyagi revisits his hometown and reunites with his childhood friend, Mihoshi Akeno. Their encounter is tinged with the memory of her fall from a tree, a moment where he rescued her. Despite this bittersweet past, Mihoshi is resolute in strengthening their bond and enlists Saku into the astronomy club she established.
