Ureshiko Asaba, a 26-year-old married woman, leads a double life as the magical guardian 'Agnes' of her town, a secret known to few. When she encounters Sayaka Kurenai, also known as 'Cruje', designated as her successor by the magical realm, tensions arise. Agnes hesitates to relinquish her role as she learns of Cruje's mission to replace their town by erasing it entirely. Meanwhile, Ureshiko grapples with her strained relationship with her husband Tamotsu, conflicting emotions for Tatsumi Kagura, a new tenant in her home, and the looming risk of losing her powers should she ever share a kiss with a regular human.
