Tokyo Mew Mew kicks off as Ichigo Momomiya visits an endangered species exhibit with her crush Masaya Aoyama, only to face a seismic event that alters her fate. Infused with the DNA of an iriomote cat in a bid to thwart alien conquest, Ichigo discovers her newfound feline traits and becomes Mew Ichigo. Partnered with four other girls similarly transformed, they unite to defend Earth from extraterrestrial colonization and the monstrous creatures spawned by alien parasites.
