In the heart of a forest, a wounded man is discovered by a young girl named Eruruu, his background veiled in enigma. Embraced by Eruruu's family without a memory of his own, he is christened Hakuoro, distinct from the village's inhabitants with his enigmatic mask in lieu of ears and tail. As upheaval grips the empire, Hakuoro finds himself entwined in a battle for freedom against the oppressive ruler.
