In the year 2039, helper androids have become ubiquitous in daily life. After losing his family in a tragic accident and stepping back from his music career, Keiichiro stumbles upon an outdated android in a junkyard. Despite attempts to fix her proving futile, he decides to discard her, only to discover the next day that she's prepared breakfast for him. Thus sets the stage for a summer of shared moments between an amnesiac android and a boy adrift in his own lack of purpose. Originally crafted as an independent OVA, 'Kowarekake no Orgel' eventually made its way to theaters with a slightly altered and extended storyline.
