Following the revelation of their father's demise, the four Shimogamo brothers strive to uphold his legacy in unique ways. While Yaichirou pursues leadership in the tanuki society, Yajirou seeks to regain his shapeshifting abilities, and Yashirou remains dedicated to the family business. As for Yasaburou, he embraces his inherited eccentricity by pursuing a carefree existence, embarking on adventures to find the mythical tsuchinoko. However, their tranquility is disrupted by the return of Nidaime, the estranged son of their tengu mentor, who harbors animosity towards his father and Benten, the mentor's apprentice. Caught in a web of conflicting loyalties, Yasaburou must navigate treacherous waters to maintain harmony among humans, tengus, and tanukis, averting a potential catastrophic upheaval.
