Maquia, part of the ethereal Iorph race known for their longevity, grapples with deep solitude despite her kinship. Sheltered within her clan, she yearns to explore beyond their boundaries but is cautioned against it. When the ambitious kingdom of Mezarte attacks, aiming to seize the Iorph's eternal life, chaos ensues. Amid the destruction, Maquia, swept away by a berserk Renato, discovers a lone infant amidst the ruins.
